Richard Bejtlich at GFIRST

June 26th, 2007 by Charles Gardner

I had the distinct pleasure of spending the day yesterday in Orlando sitting a couple sessions presented by Richard Bejtlich.  In the morning he talked about Network Incident Response and the afternoon was spent on Network Forensics.  I’ve got to say that it was a day well spent.  I follow the TaoSecurity blog and have read most of the Tao of Network Security Monitoring.  I was concerned whether or not the sessions would be a re-hash of the same material.  Thankfully, it was so much more.  Richard is a very good speaker, and he very effectively conveyed both his material and his experience.

I must say congratulations to him for moving on to GE, but it’s also too bad that it will curtail his public speaking.  After the one day yesterday, I would really like the opportunity to attend one of his remaining TCP/IP Weapons School, but I don’t think my schedule will allow it   Too bad.

If you get the chance, I’d highly recommend Richard’s blog and books.  Very good stuff.
