I’m bookmarking a couple more videos to watch.
First, Defcon released their teaser set of videos from this year’s con, including Adam Savage’s “Failure”.

Second, I saw a link to Marcus Ranum talking at TEDx MidAtlantic.

I had the opportunity to watch the first few minutes of the stream of Marcus Ranum’s talk at DojoCon 2009 but then had to go to a client site. I was happy to see they posted the videos to UStream so I can go back and watch the rest.
Among those who spoke:
- Richard Bejtlich
- Marcus Ranum
- Chris Hoff
- …and a whole lot more

In a month I will be in the middle of ShmooCon 2009 in Washington DC, probably freezing my Florida butt off. Cold or not, I’m looking forward to this opportunity. Two years ago I wanted to go but ended up out of the country. Last year I bought a ticket and ended up not going for other commitments. This year though, this year will be different. I’ve already booked the travel and I’m committed to getting there.
If all goes well, I hope to bring back my thoughts to share here.

I’ve been holding on to a link to this posting for quite a few months, and I’ve decided to put it up here for my future reference (and possibly your’s)
Marc Andreessen posted The Pmarca Guide to Career Planning, part 2: Skills and education back in October last year. I honestly don’t remember what rabbit trail led to it, but many parts of it resonated with me. Definitely worth a re-read in the future or a reference to others.

Just catching up on my feedreader, and I came across this gem:

Webcast of Paul’s “Things That Go Bump In The Network” keynote. Nice to see SANS facilitating getting this out there. I look forward to checking it out.

I just added the Jeff Doyle on IP Routing blog to my feed reeder. A couple of IPv6 postings brought me there, and several posts convinced me of the value of keeping up with it.
I like his No Way to Slow Down article on IPv4 depletion. After having read several such pieces on the subject lately, I thought this was a better written and more concise posting than others.
It’s a good sign when a blog is well enough written that I find myself digging back and reading most of the past posts. I’m impressed.
